Storyhacker

Chat roulette meets theater
Storyhacker is digital improvisational theatre. Become one of the characters. Make sound contributions and mutations and generate an ever-evolving story.

With Storyhacker we present an instable story writing generator. Stories not built to last, but to be consumed only once in a brief moment in time.

How does it work?
Storyhacker is organized in story episodes. You can listen to an episode evolving, or hack the episode by recording a text contribution within one or more scenes as one of the characters. Each episode has a random one word title. Use the title as an inspiration for mutating the dialogue text.

You can add title suggestions for later users. You can mutate the episodes to your liking more than once. Characters are randomly assigned to other players.

Idea:
“We are going to create an interactive audiostory. Usually interactive stories are about letting the user change the story. Our idea is that we are going to offer that, so you need to participate in the content…but! Your input (interaction) will be exchanged with someone else. We thought about how readers/users/players really get into a character or a famous actor and enjoy doing lines from classic stories. So by letting the users put in some lines the story he craves for will become instable: another users lines will take the place of that bit of story. Therefor we call it instable storytelling. Once you did it, the content of the story changes. It is a bit like chat roulette meets theater.”

Future possibilities:
Jeroen from team Rift suggest it could be a great improv training tool for actors.
