BBC’s virtual reality team is born

According to Digiday UK, the BBC recently formed a centralized Virtual Reality production team that works together with other departments within the BBC. The BBC’s VR projects used to be limited to their research & development lab.

Research showed that not enough people discover their VR content. But that didn’t stop them. James Montgomery, director of digital and technology, says: “It’s about developing the capabilities to evolve it into something long term. We’re spending time learning about it, then hopefully influence the evolution of the platforms.”
